Via the Canal of Montech

The "Canal de Montech", built along the "Canal de Garonne", extends over 11 km between Montech and Montauban and has 11 locks (9 + 1 double lock).

Closed to navigation in 1990 and completely renovated (the locks are all automated),  the "Canal de Montech" can, once again, connect Montauban and the Tarn to the "Garonne Lateral Canal".

Since the reopening of the canal in 2003, Montauban is once again accessible by navigation. It is in 2011, that the Canal Montech allows a walk 9 km from the Tarn to Corbarieu.

Its towpath earth offers walks accessible to everyone.
